I didn't have a chance to write this entry with Early Stage 1 today during their library lesson, because we were just so busy! First, we looked at the books nominated for book of the year for book week 2010. Then, we listened to the story 'Dinosaur in the Park' on the SMARTboard complete with sound effects. This tied in beautifully with their excursion to the dinosaur show yesterday.
We drew parks on paper plates and then coloured in a dinosaur and stuck him on top so that he was in the park just like in the book. The students are learning the term 'fiction' and 'non fiction' and most were able to tell me that this story was a fiction story-made up! Congratulations Bilbies and Koalas. You are a delight!
